“In the glance of a speechless animal there is a discourse that only the soul can really understand” Gibran Khalil Gibran was right when he said that we can learn from animals, if we, thoughtfully, observed our surrounding nature. That’s why we’ll introduce this post’s intelligence through animals’ characteristics. The 2nd intelligence is the interpersonal (the people smart).
The socially smart person is like the hummingbird in his flexibility. Being the smallest bird known to man (almost 8 cm long), hummingbirds accomodate to dangers & environmental changes well to survive despite its small size. These birds, for example, slow its heart & breathing rates to store up energy for long journeys. It, also, feeds on nectar and small insects, and uses its long beaks to suck up nectar. However, when its windy, the flowers move heavily, but this doesn’t frustrate it. It starts to move about to get its food 💮 This is like people smarts, who are able to accommodate, successfully, to different social setups and personalities, and can see situations from different perspectives.
Interpersonal people are skilled at assessing the emotions/motivations of those around them, and are compassionate towards others, like Zebras 🦓 Yes, as you read! Zebras care about their group members: when a member is wounded by a predator attack, do they stop and think: “That could have been me!😲” Or, would you find them overthinking: “My stripes are really nice. If I get wounded my unique print wouldn’t be there any more 🤔?” On the contrary! Other zebras would form a circle around the injured individual defending it and driving the predator(s) away.
Zebras can, as well, communicate with each other through various vocal means, like sniffing and balking or through nonverbal means by using its ears & tail; e.g. when its calm its ears stand erect, when its afraid it pulls its ears forwards, and when angry it pulls it backwards👂Exactly like people smart individuals, they’re good at communicating verbally and non-verbally according to the need.
The last animal compared to interpersonal people, is the humpback whale 🐋 which is considered the most enthusiastic among it kind; it likes splashing, diving, slapping & leaping spreading its fins in the air as if its going to fly. It, also, enjoys floating, making big splashes that can reach up to 6m 🐳 It spreads joy with its acrobatic movements in the air, and loves following ships and leaping around it ⛴️🐳 Just like sociable people who are enthausiatic, enjoy socials events, love crowds and spreading joy 💖
See, it’s sometimes nice to compare people to animals 😊 So, hurry up, mention the hummingbird or zebra or humpback whale in your life 😉
